Weapons Of Mass Destruction in Syria
According to an English dictionary of weapons of mass destruction called Weapons of mass destruction / WMD. These weapons are commonly used to target ordinary people and military personnel involved in a conflict of war. Some types of WMD are also considered to have psychological consequences rather than military uses. Perhaps you are more familiar with the WMD Bomb Atom ever dropped to the city of Nagasaki and Hiroshima as well as chemical weapons whose issue is being used in the Syrian war. In this article we will review the three most dangerous types of weapons of mass destruction and their use is highly contested by many:
Weapons Of Mass Destruction in Syria
1. Chemical Weapon
Lately, Chemical Weapons are widely reported in the Syrian war. Chemical Weapons are weapons that utilize the toxic properties of Chemical compounds (pure chemicals and composed of two or more elements) to injure, disable or kill enemies. According to a convention in the Convention of Chemical Weapons Convention, what is worth mentioning as a chemical weapon is a weapon that uses toxic products produced from living organisms such as botulinum, ricin, or saksitoksin. In addition, all the toxic chemicals, regardless of their type and origin, are also considered as Chemical Weapons. Countries incorporated in the Chemical Weapons Convention shall abide by the Convention's conventions, although many of its members also continue to develop such types of weapons.
One characteristic of Chemical Weapons is not from its warheads like Nuclear as well as conventional weapons but of its continued impact. One of the mildest types of Chemical Weapons is Tear Gas, a chemical gas used to immobilize a person by causing irritation to the eyes and the respiratory system. While dangerous chemical weapons are Hydrogen Cyanide, Sulfur Mustards, and others.
2. Biological Weapons
Unlike Chemical Weapons, Biological Weapons are weapons that use pathogens as a means to injure, disable and kill. Pathogens may include bacteria, viruses, and disease-producing organisms. Sometimes weapons that have elements of harmful toxins are also called Biological Weapons. This type of weapon is not a new weapon because in the past the Romans had used swords dipped in fertilizers and rotting animals before the war. When the sword is exposed to the enemy's body, it will allow the enemies infected with the disease and the worse it can die. History also records the Scythians (Persian territories) in 400 BC lubricate arrows with human feces before the battle.
In modern times, the famous country in the Biological Weapon project is probably Japan. In 1932-1935 the Sunrise Country worked on a Biological Weapon production program in China and called Unit 731. There are about 3,000 Japanese scientists involved in this project to examine potential biological agents such as cholera, plague, or even disease Sexually contagious. This project resulted in the victims reaching approximately 10,000 Chinese people due to experiments conducted.
For the classification of Biological Weapons it can be separated by host, taxonomy, syndromes generated, effects generated, from the way they are spread, as well as the practical responses as well as by their functional properties. One of the advantages of using Biological Weapons is the cheaper production cost compared to other weapons of mass destruction. In addition, the time of manufacture is also not too long.
3. Nuclear Weapons
Though considered to be the most dangerous weapon of mass destruction, the fact is that Nuclear Weapons are only used a few times. The most famous of course is the Atomic Bomb in Japan. At that time the explosive power of the Nuclear Bombs dropped in Hiroshima City and Nagasaki city reached 20 kilos (thousands) tons of TNT with an explosive power of up to 70 mega (millions) tons of TNT. Nuclear weapons themselves are weapons that derive power from nuclear reactions, a process in which two nuclei and nuclear particles collide to produce different results from the original product.
There are at least two types of Nuclear Weapons, one of which is the Nuclear Weapon whose explosive energy is only extracted from the fission reaction process and more commonly called the Atomic Bomb (A-bombs). While the other type is Nuclear Weapons that produce most of its energy from nuclear fusion reaction and commonly called thermonuclear and the hydrogen bomb.
Currently, there are some countries that are believed to have Nuclear Weapons, including the United States, Russia, China, India, Iran, Pakistan, North Korea, and France. Although not officially confirmed, Israel is also believed to have Nuclear Weapons.
