Special Elite Forces in World War II
Special Elite Forces in World War II - Here are the most powerful elite troops in the course of World War II. These elite troops run special missions that other troops can not do. Such as sabotage missions, kidnapping and murder or infiltration.
1. Waffen-SS
Formed: 1925
Active: 1939 - 1945
Type: Military Organization
Origin: Germany
Leader: Reichsfuhrer Heinrich Himmler
No elite unity was more popular in World War II than the Waffen-SS. Waffen-SS (Waffen-Schutzstaffel = Schutzstaffel Armed) is the most frightening Nazi German war machine. "Hitler's Elite" is feared not only for having a very high combat ability. It is also because of their cruelty and unlimited loyalty and very fanatical to the Nazi ideology and the Fuhrer Adolf Hitler. Many war crimes records involving the Waffen-SS union during World War II.
2. Fallschirmjager
Formed: July 1938
Type: Special Forces Parachutist
Origin: Germany
Leader:
# General Kurt Student (9 Sept 1938 - May 16, 1940)
# General Richard Putzier (May 16, 1940 - Jan 21, 1941)
# General Wilhelm Sussmann (21 Jan 1941 - May 20, 1941)
# Jendral Alferd Sturm (May 20, 1941 - June 1, 1941)
# General Erich Petersen (June 1, 1941 - August 1, 1942)
# General richard Heidrich (1 Agust 1942 - 18 Nov 1944)
# General Karl - Lothar Schulz (18 Nov 1944 -)
Fallschirmjager is the first German paratroopers in history to landing troops with parachutes from the air on a massive scale. Battle troops actually are not new. But it was Fallschirmjager who spearheaded a massive jump-off operation as did General Kurt Student to seize Crete in the Mediterranean from the hands of England.
3. Brandenburg
Type: Special Forces / Command
Origin: Germany
Leader: Theodor Von Hippel
Brandenburg was a German commando established during World War II. The embryo of this union has existed since World War I. Unlike the Waffen-SS, Brandenburg has nothing to do with the Nazi party. They are directly under the command of Abwehr (German Armed Forces Intelligence Service) and are the command units that run special missions.
The members of Brandenburg (Brandenburger) had acted on all fronts in World War II: in Blitzkrieg (Flash Wars) in Poland, the war in France, Operation Barbarossa in Russia, Finland, Greece, Gibraltar (Spain), invasion of paratroopers on Crete (Operation Mercury), the Balkan Peninsula, and even some units were also sent with infiltration missions in India, the Middle East, Afghanistan and South Africa. In the early days of the war Brandenburg was able to show impressive achievements in mastering and occupying vital places, such as bridges, bunkers, railroads, or fortifications before the main troops moved forward. Brandenburg's units also consist of people proficient in foreign languages for infiltration and disguise missions.
After the war, many Brandenburg veterans did not return to peaceful civilian life and chose to remain in the army. Most of them joined the French Foreign Legion, or as military advisers in various countries. These included the first Indonesian military adviser to Soekarno.
4. Special Air Service
Type: Special Forces / Command
Origin: UK
Leader: (During World War II)
# David Stirling
# William Stirling
# Robert Blair "Paddy" Mayne
Special Air Service (SAS) is a major British special forces unit. The SAS almost always took part in every international conflict involving England during and after World War II, including in the Indonesia-Malaysia confrontation in 1963, the Malvinas war in Argentina and the Gulf wars I and II.
At present, SAS is the main reference model for the establishment of special forces units in various countries, including Indonesia which has the Kopassus Red Beret Corps and the Delta Force special forces unit. SAS was originally set up to paralyze the forces of Nazi Germany in World War II, at the present time much of the role as an anti-terror unity.
5. Long Range Desert Group
Type: Special Forces / Sand Patrol
Origin: UK
Leader:
# Major Ralph A. Bagnold
# Guy Lennox Prendergast
# John Richard "Jake" Easonsmith
# David L. Lyold Owen
The Long Range Desert Group (LRDG) or often referred to as Desert Patrol has a major missile reconnaissance missile mission, intelligence gathering, and navigation and road guide and sand transport services. LRDG also often runs combat missions by launching a rapid attack on a large scale against a certain position, and ambush against enemy troops. LRDG's main specializations are mechanized reconnaissance and desert navigation. LRDG carries out missions with vehicles such as American-made Chevrolet and Ford trucks.
Thanks to the role played by this LRDG, Allied forces in North Africa can defeat the brave genius of Marshal Erwin Rommel of the German Corps Africa. Erwin Rommel himself admits that his most feared troop in North Africa is LRDG England.
6. Decima Flottiglia Mas
Active: February 24, 1940 - April 26, 1945
Type: Special Forces / Naval Frog Command
Origin: Italy
Leader:
# CF Paolo Aloisi
# CF Mario Giorgini
# Vittorio Moccagata
# Junio Valerio borghese
If the Italian army in World War II was deemed incompetent and less respected, then Decima Flottiglia Mezzi d'Assalto was an exception. Decima Flottiglia MAS is a special forces unit composed of Italian frog men under the command of Regia Marina (Italian Navy) formed by the Italian Fascist regime. The acronym MAS (Mezzi d'Assalto = fighter) refers to a torpedo-torpedo boat carrier).
Reputation of Decima Flottiglia MAS as a predator of allied ships, both warships and civilian trade vessels has been well known. These frog humans are known to be very lethal with a very clever method of assault and sabotage. This underwater troop deployment is one of the newest pioneering arts pioneered by Italy.
7. US Ranger
Type: Lightweight Elite Infantry Forces
Origin: United States
Leader: (During World War II)
# Lieutenant Colonel William Orlando Darby
U.S Ranger (Army Rangers) is a unit of the United States' light infantry elite troops that began to be formed in mid-1942.
