This is the way Russia and China Prevent US-North Korea War
MOSCOW - Russia and China have drawn up a joint proposal to prevent a war between the United States (US) and North Korea (North Korea). This proposal equally reined in Washington and Pyongyang from its military activities.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov is worried about the government's war rhetoric of President Donald Trump and Kim Jong-un's government, which he says is already at the top. He hopes and believes that ultimately common sense will prevail.
"Russia along with China developed a very smart plan that proposes a 'double freeze'," Lavrov said.
"Kim Jong-un must freeze nuclear tests and stop the launch of all types of ballistic missiles, while the US and South Korea must freeze large-scale drills," Lavrov said.
Lavrov noted that Pyongyang had signed the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) but later withdrew from the treaty.
"Now (North Korea) claims to have the legal right to make nuclear weapons and has done so," he said. "But you know where we stand: we do not accept the fact that North Korea can have nuclear weapons," the top Moscow diplomat said on Saturday (08/12/2017).
According to Lavrov, proposals from Russia and China aim to prevent what could be one of the deepest conflicts and crises with large casualties.
A similar attitude is also voiced by German Chancellor Angela Merkel. Berlin, he said, supports non-military solutions related to the North Korean crisis.
"I do not see a military solution to this conflict," Merkel told reporters in Berlin. "I see the need to stay on the UN Security Council, as well as the close cooperation between the countries involved, especially the US and China."
